Second thoughts...

Mabd spent a bit of time last night dueling my new guildies and getting my ass handed to me.

I couldn't beat anyone. It was pathetic. Lost to a mace spec rogue, an ice mage, a sick sick boomkin, and a BM hunter.

Over and over.

The problem is that MM spec is more of a support role than attack. I can control more, but lose the punch of BM.

Another problem is gear. I wasn't terribly concerned with resiliance when I was BM... I needed more crit and RAP. Now... well, I need more resil and health. This should change a bit in two weeks when I get my arena season 3 upgrades :)

But still... I'm giving a bit of thought to switching back to BM.

Another sad thing... the hypothermia nerf for ice mages has been reversed :(

So... some thoughts on BM from the other side... (the other hunter was pretty much mirror image, gear wise...)

That damn pet crits for 700 on my mail. Deterrence wasn't doin crap to keep me alive.

I was whooping on him with the yellow damage attacks. Still... they didn't help much. Best I did was get him down to 15%.

I don't know why warriors aren't allowed to use taunt in pvp, and yet hunter pets can redirect aggro with intimidate and growl...
(or is this a weird auto target mechanic I do not understand?)

So... final tally

BM vs MM/Surv
Hunters... BM crushes other builds
Mages.... again... BM has edge...
Priests.... BM has edge...
Warlocks... BM has edge...
Paladins... MM pwns em...
Shammies... MM has slight edge.. til patch, I think
Druids.... Boomkin is trouble, but BM is better gainst others
Warriors... Bane of the BM... MM has few problems...

I really doan know. MM works better with others, but BM works best when it breaks down...

For shame! Not enough time!

Marks is very unforgiving in pvp. Expecialy 1v1. Its not forgiving in several ways.

1) You need good pvp gear to be effective as a marks pvper. Sub 200 resil you're going to notice you take a crapton beating.

2) You can't screw up. If you misuse a skill you're going to catch hell. You have no TBW to get you into FLEE WARRIOR mode.

The pluses? As you get better gear you will do more dmg in arena than you did as BM. The BM generated haste festival is very powerful in pve when you can plant but in arena this planting for more than 4-5 seconds is rare.

As far as your fights imm gonna post those on my blog and my thinking!

Oh ya, marks in 2v2 requries you to play with a healer or better focus target. AS marks you're going to be hurting with a warrior in 2v2.

Wait? Warriors the bane of BM????? Unless I'm in a crowded area i.e. inside a building I've never had much problem facing warriors one on one. What you do is one of two things place a frost trap down and kite the warrior around it and use the occasional concussive shot. Or you place freezing traps down and when they charge at you they are stuck in a trap while you get off an aimed shot and then a concussive shot to pew pew them a bit more. Pallys, on the other hand, do give me a bit of trouble.

Yea when i respecced from BM->Marks warriors drove me nuts. But then again warrior is a class people are asking to be nerfed.

They key as marks is you cant screw up your kite since you dont have BW to get out. If he gets anwhere close you need to trap or scatter him.

I don't think intimdate works to redirect a person's target. What probably happened was the hunter FDed, which drops your target and since his pet was attacking you it auto-targeted his pet. FD is actually a good PVP tool. It detargets you and stops any spell being cast because of that. The only thing to watch is that it will also stop heals being cast on you.

I tried MM this weekend in the bgs. Hated every second of it. The worst was the fears that I seemed to be hit with. As a BM hunter with pvp trinket. I'm immune to fear and cc once every minute, its amazing.
